Brown's Progress and Update 2/2/16

Dear friends and family far and near, good evening from Boston. It's a brilliant evening here, the sun is shining and the Lord is upon the throne - all is well. I went for surgery yesterday on time and came through surgery well. The doctors were pleased and said it was successful. I was blessed to have a really good team of surgeons and staff and have been well taken care of with grace and kindness. I'm in my room on the 7th floor, with a beautiful view of the Boston skyline. The doctors have said that I might be able to be discharged tomorrow followed by some home visitations and physical therapy.

It was a blessing to have Alice, Jessy, Tom and Lindy, Janice, Jeremy and Micah, Simeon and Ada here. And now Laureen is coming to spend a few days.

Thank you for praying around the world and sending your prayerful thoughts. I felt complete peace. The night before surgery I had tremendous pain . Once I got to the surgical theatre I felt complete peace and felt the Lord's grace shining on me.

Thank you again for praying on my behalf and trusting the Lord's healing power on my behalf. Continue to pray for a full recovery.

With deep gratitude and love,

Brown

PS - It's groundhog day in America. The groundhog saw his shadow. That means we'll have an early Spring. Praise the Lord for the way the Lord brings eternal Spring in his eternal city.

Brown's Daily Word - 1/31/16 - Prayer request

Dear family and friends, far and near, we praise the Lord for this Lord's evening, the last day of January.  I am writing you around 9pm in Boston. Many of you have known that I'm in Boston, going for surgery tomorrow. The surgery is scheduled for 8:30 in the morning. The surgeon will perform surgery on my spine to remove a tumor. Thank you for fervently praying and trusting the Lord for his marvelous healing and restoration. We attended the worship service this morning and came home blessed. We've been spending time together with Janice and her family, and Jessy and her family who have come to be with us. It has been a warm, sunny day in Boston, compared to last year when the city was paralyzed by snow for days and days. Yesterday I was walking with our grandchildren in a local park around 11:30am and two robins flew by and came fluttering and gliding before us. When I first saw them, I couldn't believe my eyes. Usually the robins we see in NY are in March. Robins are the harbingers of Spring here and every time, after the long winter, my first sighting of the robins makes me joyful and jubilant. When I saw robins flying unhurriedly and I heard the spring birds singing in the trees, I was lifted up. The Lord gives a sign of great hope before my surgery and I felt assured and loved and blessed.

Thank you again each one of you and every one of you. Many of you have written expressing your love and offering prayers. Thank you for praying fervently and with boldness and confidence.  May the Lord bless all of us. Now I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you alone O Lord makes me dwell in safety.Praise the Lord that we serve under a captain who has never lost a battle.

In His grace and faithfulness,

Brown
