Brown's Daily Word 01-02-14

Praise the Lord for this brand NEW YEAR 2014.   The whole creation is moving towards something new and glorious under the Lordship of Jesus the newborn King.  When we are living our lives under His Authority and Kingship it is to be involved and not get bored.  With the talents and the gifts He has given us we are called to be partners in His miracles and mission.
"Revelation 21: 1-5 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful."

We have been given the assurance  that in the end we win and the Lord  is going to make all things new.  We are called to remain determined, singleminded, and looking unto Jesus, the pioneer and the finisher of our faith.

In 1859, a Frenchman named Charles Blondin became the first to walk across Niagara Falls on a tightrope.  He grew so skillful at traversing this life-threatening chasm that he later walked across carrying a man on his back.  Once Blondin pushed a wheelbarrow containing a small stove made of sheet iron across the gorge.  Midway, he proceeded to light a fire and cook an omelet!  Then he lowered the omelet down to passengers on The Maid of the Mist, who ate it before Blondin continued his crossing!  No one understood how he managed to keep his balance and not fall to his death.

One day a man asked Blondin his secret.  He replied, “Go look on the other side, there in the direction I’m walking.  Do you see that silver star?  I placed it there.  I never take my eyes from it.  I focus on that star and walk toward it.  That’s what gives me stability.”

Jesus is the Bright and Morning Star.  Amid the chaos, He will give you stability. He will grant us His assurance and confidence.

  In Christ,

     Brown
