Brown's Daily Word & BIRTHDAY!! 9-17-12

Blessings and honor to Jesus, who makes all things glorious. Praise Him for this new day. On this day many years ago I was born in a tiny village called Muklingia in Orissa, India, approximately 7000 feet above sea level. I praise the Lord for His countless blessings, ineffable love, and measureless grace. I praise the Lord for you all, for your friendship, affection, and love. Thank you each and every one around the corner and around the globe for birthday wishes. I am going to spend some time today reading, and listening to Handel and Bach. On my birthday I read again Psalm 103, one of my favorite Psams.
In Psalm 103 we find God's Catalogue of Blessings. There are 5 blessings we can especially praise God for:
1. He forgives our sins
2. He heals us from our diseases
3. He redeems our life
4. He crowns us with love and compassion
5. He satisfies our desires with good things.

Somebody has put it most aptly, saying, "If you woke up this morning with more health than illness...you are more blessed than the six million who will not survive this week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation...you are ahead of 500 million people in the world. If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death... you are more blessed than three billion people in the world. If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead, and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace...you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy. "

Just for fun let us look at what we are willing to pay in time of tragedy to restore something we are currently blessed with:
Coronary artery bypass surgery $15,000 - $20,000
Heart transplant $210,000
Gastrointestinal Surgery $15,000
Kidney Transplant $42,000
Liver Transplant $115,000
Bone Marrow Transplant $106,000
Lung Transplant $105,000

Again, remember the goodness of the Lord as expressed in Psalm 103. Our Lord God, forgives our sin. He heals our diseases. He redeems our lives. He crowns us with love and compassion. This is all made possible in the Person of Jesus Christ our Lord. He has given us true honor and great honor. He satisfies our desires with good things.

In Christ,

Brown
