September 22, 2008NEW DELHI (UCAN) -- One more death has been reported from the eastern Indian state of Orissa, as anti-Christian violence continues elsewhere in the country.The latest reported victim in Orissa is Isharo Digal, 42, from Malipada village in Kandhamal district, according to information from the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Catholic archbishop's residence in Bhubaneswar, the state capital, 1,745 kilometers southeast of New Delhi.

Dehra Dun, September 22In the fourth incident of violence against Christians in Uttarakhand, Sadhu Astey (56), a Catholic preacher and his disciple, Mercy (32), were found strangulated to death in "Samarpanalaya", an ashram run by them in Chotta Rampur.In a bizarre incident that led to scare amongst Christians in Uttarakhand, a Christian Catholic priest and a women volunteer were found murdered in their 'ashram' in Chotta Rampur village near Herbertpur in Vikasnagar tehsil of Dehra Dun district today.

Peoples Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) has constituted a Peoples Tribunal having Justice (retd) M F Saldanha as its chairman in order to conduct a private probe into the attacks on places of worship and Christians.
